Isn't it a little late to be checking out my site?

I’m Abhishek, a designer / developer based out of Seattle WA. Currently, I work as a Senior Design Technologist at Piktorlabs.

I enjoy contributing to user experience and research and that's where I look to improve my skills. I also enjoy creating interfaces, as well as bringing them to life, on web, android and iOS.

Along with a friend of mine, I took up a project to redesign and develop the Intersectional feminist magazine website. It gave me the change to work along a talented architect turned designer, and use my interdisciplinary skills to reduce the friction between design and development.

About Me

If you're a recruiter who's just looking for keywords to decide whether I fit the bill, here you go:

I brainstorm in Miro. I wireframe and design with Adobe XD | Figma. I develop websites in React (CRA, NextJS) I also develop apps with React Native (and a lot of patience). I jot down my thoughts on NotesApp (more on that below). I collaborate over Slack and Discord.

For the rest of you: I help create products that focus on user experience and performance. Working in the front-end side of things and getting to interact with a lot of designers sparked an interest in me towards designing, and that's how I began my journey into this world of personas and wireframes. I've had the opportunity to work on a variety of UI/UX projects both as a developer and designer. This unique viewpoint helps me bridge the gap between both the teams, as well as speed up the handover process. When I'm not working, you can find me watching football, playing football, or gaming. Football games of course. I also tend to my garden, tinker with the PC I built myself, and if I have some time left I write at Plain English and Bootcamp. And did I mention I like football?

JavaScript in plain English
As part of learning UI/UX design, I decided to redesign my website and work on it. Soon I completed the design and development. I wondered if there was an easier way for me to deploy. The current method involved merging code into master, and then manual deployment through the CLI.

In 2020, we saw a long period of time where everyone had to stay home. The WFH culture grew global, and now everything moved online. I decided to get in on the action, by creating a simple game using my skills.

A young developer, I had recently learnt to build a mobile app. This got my mind racing. Creating anything that could run on billions of devices, I was living an earlier dream. So, I set about trying to build something that I would use, that someone else might use. And this is the story of how I created NotesApp.
